About Rose Marinelli
Rose Marinelli, an accomplished and versatile digital artist, is deeply rooted in Sydney’s Inner West. With a background in graphic design and photography from the University of Western Sydney, Rose has honed her craft over more than 30 years, creating captivating digital artworks that blend traditional techniques with modern technology.
Her digital painting process emulates traditional artistry, using sophisticated software to craft images on a computer, which are then brought to life on canvas or art paper. Integrating hand-drawn elements, Rose’s work is a seamless fusion of the old and the new, reflecting her unique perspective in visual storytelling.
Inspired by thought-provoking images of René Magritte, the impressionistic techniques of Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh, and the iconic Andy Warhol, who ventured into digital art in 1985, Rose captures the essence of her subjects rather than just their details. Her work is characterized by bold colors, rich textures, visual metaphors, and elements of surrealism.
Rose’s artistic journey is fueled by the myriad joys and challenges of life. Having faced mental health struggles, she finds therapeutic solace in her creativity, channeling her experiences into her art. Her primary subjects include urban landscapes, music, and current affairs, each piece a vivid reflection of her world.
Beyond her art, Rose boasts a diverse professional background, including roles in the music manufacturing industry, large retail environments, and the design and coordination of point-of-sale products and trade shows for computer hardware and software companies. Her artworks have graced homes both in Australia and overseas.
